Age of Conan goes free to play with AoC: Unchained
The violent, sexualized MMO switches to the free-to-play model. Will it help Conan and the Hyborian’s stay alive?
Is Warhammer Online being shut down?
It seems no matter how much advertising, effort, or player time that’s put into Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, EA is forced to slowly shut down the servers and push players out. Instead of trying to revamp the game, change the subscription to a free-to-play model, or simply let it be, they want to end it.
While it doesn’t even take a former EA employee who worked on WAR to tell you that the game had some problems, it still deserved a little more time.
Sign up for the Rift beta now!
Rift, the new MMORPG on the block, that is not only interesting, good looking, and press friendly, also happens to be quite fun. While it is hard to say whether the success of the new game from Trion Worlds (makers of RTS End of Nations) will be substantial enough to gain foothold in the online massively multiplayer battle for the top, it is certainly a contender.
World of Starcraft Trailer by fan is amazing
For a game that doesn’t even exist yet, World of Starcraft is getting quite the big amount of buzz from the gaming community. We had barely just gotten our hands on this preview trailer created by a solo game developer and fan using just the tools provided by Blizzard and the valuable Starcraft and Warcraft assets that come with them, before our dreams were shot down.
Sequel to Oblivion inbound – The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launch date announced

Panasonic Jungle: New handheld to compete against PSP and DS
Panasonic has announced its portable platform: the Jungle, signaling the return of Panasonic to the gaming market since the much loved and much despised 3DO. Looking like a cross between a Nintendo DS and a netbook, the Jungle will have a full QWERTY keyboard and twin touch pads for control with.
Not willing to take on the DS or PSP battle just yet, Panasonic is promoting the Jungle as a machine for MMO players with their first title being a Battlestar Galactica MMO.
Vindictus: Free-to-play MMORPG from Nexon using Valve’s Source Engine
Vindictus – it’s free, built using Source, and has a great story The battles never end, the rain never ends, and nothing ever grows in this land. “Rain falls, yet the land is barren, as if the earth has been drenched in too much bloodshed to bear fruit“. Monsters and …
The plot of every single rpg game. Ever.
If you have played the Final Fantasy series, the old Shining Force series, tons of generic Japanese RPGs (JRPGs), MMORPGs, or even Sci-Fi Western RPGs, then you know that a lot of plot devices, ideas, and story mechanisms get reused very often. Some fine folks over at Game Informer (specifically …
Why Warhammer Online Failed
The tale of the EALouse A former EA employee, one who has been scorned and angered by the sheer lack of terrible upper management (you know, the kind that fails to understand their own market and try to get promoted over furthering the company), has come out (well anonymously that …
