If you go back to 2011, only 6 percent of the traffic came from these handheld devices. This shows a huge jump in traffic from mobile devices in just a two-year span.

Experts say that services like YouTube are perfect for people on the go. Most of the videos that people watch on YouTube are short. Some are just a few seconds, and others are a few minutes. What they get is a bit of entertainment while they are waiting in line or eating lunch. It is perfect for people who do not have time to sit down and enjoy other forms of entertainment during their busy day.

YouTube is looking for more ways to expand its mobile service. Most recently, it has been experimenting with the ability to watch movies offline. This makes it easy for people to enjoy YouTube even when there is no Wi-Fi available and when they do not want to use data from their mobile data plans. This service involves downloading select videos while Wi-Fi is available so that the user can view it later.

It seems that people simply can no longer wait to update their Facebook pages until they get home. They have to tell people what they are doing, and they have to tell them when they are doing it.
